On March 19, 2028 at 2:00 p.m. at the Palais Nikaïa, Roméo & Juliette returns. The show has attracted more than 11 million spectators worldwide. Translated into 18 languages and performed in 20 countries, it has established itself as a landmark of French musical theatre. Launched in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, where it drew nearly 2.5 million spectators, the production has been carried from the start by the duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. The original pair are still reunited on stage today.

For Cécilia Cara, returning with Roméo & Juliette is moving. "I was chosen at 15 to play Juliet, a role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. Finding her again twenty years later alongside Damien was a powerful moment, as if we had never parted but had been enriched by what life brought us. This return has a symbolic value: coming full circle, returning to where it all began, with 25 years of experience that now nourish the characters differently. The story continues to bring people together, to convey love and emotion. I am happy to reunite with Juliet and the French audience."

Damien Sargue adds: "Coming back after having taken Roméo & Juliette around the world, notably in Asia, has a particular resonance. This role has accompanied me since 2001, and finding it again today alongside Cécilia, with the perspective and maturity that time brings, gives this adventure another dimension."

With more than 9 million records sold and songs well known in French pop culture, including Les Rois du monde and Aimer, Roméo & Juliette has left its mark on the history of musical theatre. For nearly 25 years the show has traveled through cultures and adapted to the changes of its era: new techniques, new stage codes, new audience expectations. Faithful to its DNA while renewing itself, it retains what defines it: familiar songs, a sweeping aesthetic, and a sense of spectacle.

For Gérard Presgurvic, Roméo & Juliette tells a love story that transcends time. It asks a question that remains current: how far are we willing to go for love? Shakespeare answers it with a force that crosses the centuries, and it is that emotion that is shared with the audience. Reuniting Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara, more than twenty years after their debuts, brings a new depth to the show, nourished by the experience they have gained.

The return of Roméo & Juliette presents a rethought version, incorporating new generational codes while preserving the essence of the show that has endured for a quarter of a century: a timeless story, universal emotions, and a recognized musical signature. This comeback comes with a new cast, new costumes and a new stage design, conceived for today without touching the show's DNA.
