Info
Marcus Gad arrives at Le Dodu, Marseille, on November 20, 2026, with Tribe and a new project in tow. Originally from New Caledonia, the singer has been developing since the mid-2010s a roots reggae infused with spirituality, references to Kanak culture and a strong connection to nature. On stage he leans on Tribe, a collective of musicians he met between New Caledonia and Europe, for an organic sound built on slow tempos, backing vocals and acoustic textures.
Across his records—from Purify in 2017 to Rhythm of Serenity in 2020, including a more meditative interlude with producer Tamal on Brave New World—Marcus Gad has broadened his palette, blending roots with arrangements close to dub and downtempo music. His writing alternates between English and French and addresses ecology, spirituality, colonial legacies and social issues, with a considered focus on the indigenous peoples of the Pacific and Rastafarian culture.
This new 2026 live show highlights his recent tracks while revisiting key songs, in a precise, immersive set where groove, voice and conscience respond to one another. A date for those who appreciate deep, band-driven reggae conceived for the stage.
