Info
Friday, July 10, 2026, the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris brings together two generations of reggae-dancehall for an evening of the Summer Festival: Yellowman & The Upper Cut on stage, with Sika Rlion opening with a DJ set.
A leading figure of 1980s dancehall, Yellowman gave the genre a direct, rhythmic and biting signature, positioned between roots heritage and a digital turn. Records such as Mister Yellowman and King Yellowman left their mark on Jamaican music, as did his instantly recognizable phrasing and quick wit. At the Cabaret Sauvage he returns to the fundamentals with The Upper Cut Band: a punchy voice, taut riddims and reworked classics alongside more recent tracks, in a format tailored for the stage.
As the opening act, Sika Rlion sets the mood with a DJ set. Originally from Réunion, she blends reggae, trap, R&B and maloya, in French as well as in Creole. On Endemik, released in 2025, she established the foundations of a world where frank songwriting and vocal flexibility respond to one another. Behind the decks she mixes her influences and her own material, ranging from Afro-reggae grooves to club pulses, between vocals and driving kicks, with uncompromising energy.
