Sammy Rae & The Friends land at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on October 14, 2026, with special guest Melt. Led by singer and songwriter Samantha “Sammy Rae” Bowers, the Brooklyn collective moves with a tight horn section, rhythm crew and keys, folding jazz-pop, soul, funk, rock and a touch of folk into songs built for a crowd. Their set mise en scène favors layered ensemble parts, choral refrains and storytelling rooted in American songwriting. The path runs from EPs The Good Life (2018) and Let’s Throw a Party (2021) to a tour live album in 2023, then a first studio record, Something For Everybody (2024), followed by the covers project Songs We Wish We Wrote (2025). On stage, the group plays like a community, each player feeding the collective pulse.
Opening, New York outfit Melt centers vocalist Veronica Stewart-Frommer with guitarist Marlo Shankweiler and bassist Lucas Saur. Their writing sits between indie pop, soul, soft rock and R&B-tinged pop, shaped by warm arrangements and close harmonies. After early attention with the single Sour Candy, they refined the blueprint on the 2021 EP West Side Highway, then released their debut album If There’s a Heaven in 2024, produced by Sam Evian and recorded live to capture the band-in-the-room feel. A fluid, melodic set that pairs naturally with Sammy Rae & The Friends.
