Info

City and Colour is the songwriting moniker of Dallas Green. For this solo date, he brings the songs back to their bare bones — voice, guitar, stories — echoing the intimate beginnings of the project. Since the mid-2000s, his catalog has traced a line from the acoustic folk of Sometimes and Bring Me Your Love to the broader colors of Little Hell and The Hurry and the Harm, then the live-in-the-room feel of If I Should Go Before You, and the denser textures of A Pill for Loneliness and The Love Still Held Me Near. Between folk, americana, alternative rock, country and blues touches, the thread remains a clear tenor and unadorned melodies.

On stage alone, the focus shifts to phrasing, space and dynamics. Early pieces find a new edge when stripped down again; later songs lose the polish to reveal their core; and there may be nods to side projects for those who followed every step. It’s a night centered on writing and presence, close to the way these tracks were first sketched.

City and Colour plays Royal Theatre, Victoria, on May 10, 2026.
