For its 25th anniversary, Celtic Legends hits the road again with a new show that puts Irish dance back at the centre. On 23 February 2027 at the Zénith de Pau, the troupe brings together dancers, musicians and singers for two hours of performance driven at full tilt. Choreographer Jacintha Sharpe has designed tap work, ensemble pieces and solos that answer the music played live by five instrumentalists under the direction of Sean McCarthy. Uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar create a soundscape rooted in reels, jigs and ballads, alternating between brisk bursts and more melodic interludes. Born out of international touring, the collective relies on a constant dialogue between percussive footwork and the groove of traditional music, with no pre-recorded tracks. This anniversary tour highlights the project’s DNA with tight arrangements, exchanges between musicians and dancers, and scenes that channel the stage’s energy straight into the auditorium. It is a way of celebrating a quarter-century of live Irish music in continuity with what has shaped Celtic Legends’ identity.
