Vincent Courtois « Soirée Double Duo »

On June 6, 2026 at Le Triton in Les Lilas, Vincent Courtois presents an evening titled Double Duo. A French cellist who moves between jazz, improvised music and compositions with cinematic contours, he advances with a clear tone, a supple pulse and a sense of narrative without excess. His cello shifts from song to ostinato, from pizzicato to sustained bowing, evoking textures, scrapes and counter-lines that both anchor the music and open it up.

The Double Duo concept: two successive or interwoven dialogues in which listening guides the gesture. Courtois weaves tightly focused playing spaces, lets motifs, breaths and ruptures circulate, and allows the form to be shaped in real time. Between minimalist themes, rhythmic bursts and held silences, the material stretches, contracts and responds.
