Volo

Volo, a duo formed by the Volovitch brothers, will be at La Compagnie du Café-Théâtre in Nantes on May 5, 2026. Two voices answering one another, acoustic guitars that lightly brush each other, precise songwriting: their songs move between everyday scenes, understated humour and a clear social perspective. Since the mid-2000s they have been mining a vein of French chanson that focuses on human relationships, small contradictions, tenderness and rough edges, with a deliberately simple approach that leaves room for the words. On stage, Volo cultivates intimacy: narration that links the pieces, asides and anecdotes, smooth transitions, fraternal harmonies that establish an attentive atmosphere. Each song unfolds its story without unnecessary effects, carried by the complementary timbres of the two voices and an acoustic playing that favors clarity and brings out the contours of the lyrics. A concert of subtle contrasts—direct and unadorned—where their complicity guides the music and where, above all, you hear what is being sung.
