Jodok Cello

Under the alias Jodok Cello, Swiss cellist Jodok Vuille presents a solo in which the instrument takes the lead. Between contemporary instrumental pieces, acoustic pop and neoclassical sensibility, he constructs short, direct forms driven by clear melodies and repeated motifs. The cello’s timbre remains central: clean attacks, long resonances, pizzicato or sustained bowing, and spare arrangements that keep an immediate connection to the performer’s gesture. On stage, this repertoire takes the form of a tightly focused performance that plays on nuance, a subtle pulse and the relief of textures.

On 14 May 2026 at the Folies Bergère, Jodok Cello will unfold a set conceived as a tête-à-tête with the instrument: pieces that flow like vignettes, between an intimate atmosphere and contained energy. A concert in which each motif settles, returns and shifts, until it traces a simple, precise melodic landscape, as close as possible to the sound of the cello.
