Avatar will play Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg) on December 11, 2026, delivering an in-your-face, theatrical metal. Hailing from Gothenburg, the band led by Johannes Eckerström initially carved out the melodic death metal lane before creating a dark cabaret on stage where heavy riffs, clean choruses and groove coexist. Makeup, characters and a sense of tableau structure a show conceived as a narrative, alternating between heavy gallops, slower respites and choral passages.

The quintet draws from all its periods: the direct momentum of the early albums, the turn marked by Black Waltz/Hail the Apocalypse, the narratives of Feathers & Flesh, the more rock-oriented thrust of Avatar Country, and the rougher grain of Hunter Gatherer and Dance Devil Dance. Expect shifts of atmosphere, crisp breaks and catchy melodies, led by a frontman as master of ceremonies. The circus-like staging provides the frame, but the music remains central: incisive guitars, tight, driving drums and emphatic bass lines. A sequence designed to keep the tension from the first to the last riff.
