Trixie Whitley

Trixie Whitley will be on stage at the Papiersaal in Zurich on 30 November 2026. Born in Ghent and raised between Belgium and New York, the singer and musician — daughter of guitarist Chris Whitley — moves with a distinct signature between rock, soul, blues, folk and darker pop shades. Active early in the New York scene, she shaped the project initiated by Daniel Lanois as a member of Black Dub alongside Brian Blade and Daryl Johnson, before sharpening her own line with Fourth Corner (2013), Porta Bohemica (2016) and Lacuna (2019): pared-down arrangements, concentrated energy, lyrics with momentum and room for nuance.

Live, Whitley consistently puts her voice at the center. The songs build tension through sparse guitars, keys and precisely placed rhythms, swinging between restraint and slowly pulsing grooves. In Zurich she presents a focused set that blends new material with tracks from her previous albums. Uncluttered, dense in atmosphere, with those subtle dynamics that carry her music on stage.
