Info
Louis Matute returns to the New Morning in Paris on November 18, 2026 with pieces from Dolce Vita. The Swiss guitarist charts a jazz that moves between Europe and Latin America, nourished by his Honduran roots and by travels to Brazil and Cuba. The album Dolce Vita embodies a search for identity, oscillating between family memory and resilient energy. In concert, these themes become a collective narrative carried by his Large Ensemble, where each voice interlocks into warm, shifting textures.
At the center, Matute’s guitar stays the course—precise without stiffness, lyrical without affectation. Around it, the arrangements open up spaces for groove and improvisation. The lineup includes Zacharie Ksyk on trumpet, Léon Phal on saxophone, Andrew Audiger on piano, Nathan Vandenbulcke on drums and Virgile Rosselet on double bass. Together they shape an organic, expansive and clear sound, made of supple melodies, bold pulses and rhythmic surges that give the live performance a direct and engaging immediacy. A concert conceived to be experienced fully on stage, at the New Morning.
