The Watch plays Genesis

On 18 September 2026 The Watch will appear at Spirit of 66 in Verviers with "The Watch plays Genesis", an evening wholly dedicated to early Genesis. The Italian progressive rock band from Milan, formed in the late 1990s around singer and flautist Simone Rossetti, has over the years developed a distinct signature that aligns with the Gabriel-era. Rossetti’s timbre and flute parts, together with analog keyboards and layered guitar lines, bring that 1970s atmosphere to life without losing the songs’ theatrical character.

On stage the focus is on long compositions, tempo shifts and carefully constructed instrumental passages: Mellotron colours, sparkling arpeggios, pulsing bass lines and that characteristic, narrative vocal style. The Watch plays Genesis with attention to detail and dynamics — not a literal copy but a live approach that preserves the energy of the original arrangements. A set where melodies are given time to breathe, carried by Rossetti and a line-up that approaches the prog heritage precisely and with feeling.
