Antony Szmierek

Manchester-based poet, writer and producer Antony Szmierek brings his talk-sung storytelling and low-slung electronics to Berlin on 13 April 2026 at Modus. Coming from the UK’s spoken word circuit, he threads everyday scenes and intimate portraits through beats that flirt with indie pop, house and downtempo hip-hop. On stage, his flow sits between rap and confessional narration, shifting from dry wit to melodic hooks without losing the pulse.

Expect a set that reconnects the narrative spark of his EP Poems To Dance To with the world he opened on his debut album Service Station at the End of the Universe. Fan favourites like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Fallacy, The Great Pyramid of Stockport, Yoga Teacher and Angie’s Wedding take shape live with space for the words to breathe. He’s also been road-testing fresh cuts such as That Face You Make When It’s Raining and Girlypops, turning the room into a place where stories move with the groove.
