Walk On

On 9 August 2026 Tim Knol will perform with Walk On at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The Hoorn-born singer-songwriter has for years moved between folk, pop and Americana, with a clear nod to the songwriters of the sixties and seventies. His songs are direct and melody-driven, carried by voice and guitar, with the occasional touch of country and arrangements that keep things small where that serves the music.

After starting out with Be Right Back, Knol chose a solo path in the late 2000s, signed with Excelsior Recordings and drew attention at Noorderslag 2010. His debut Tim Knol (2010) set the tone, followed by Days (2011) and Soldier On (2013). With Cut the Wire (2018) the sound became more restrained and more precise, a line that continues on Happy Hour (2020) and Lightyears Better (2022). Live he moves smoothly between full-band line-ups and a more intimate approach.

At Caprera, Knol will present a set that showcases the breadth of his repertoire: early songs alongside newer material, folk-rock with a warm undercurrent and enough space for detail. Walk On is above all an invitation to hear the core of his work — unadorned, with the song at the centre.
