Ilse DeLange

On 22 August 2026 Ilse DeLange will perform at Openluchttheater Hertme (Hertmerweg 31, 7626 LV Hertme). The singer from Almelo went to Nashville in the late 1990s for her debut World of Hurt (1998), which tied country, pop and Americana together. That was followed by, among others, Dear John, Livin’ on Love, Clean Up, The Great Escape and Incredible: guitar-based songs with clear hooks and room for vocal ballads. In the 2010s she explored both sides of her music, from Eye of the Hurricane to the spare, roots-tinged Gravel & Dust (2019), and later the more pop-oriented direction on Changes (2020). Meanwhile she teamed up with Waylon to form The Common Linnets, the country-folk project that continued to grow after the Eurovision experience. In Hertme you can expect a set that brings those strands together: songs with a warm Americana feel, accessible pop tracks and intimate acoustic moments, supported by a band that gives the songs plenty of space.
