Kraak & Smaak

On 18 December 2026 Kraak & Smaak will play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The Leiden-based producer trio — Oscar de Jong, Wim Plug and Mark Kneppers — have been developing a sound since the early 2000s that smoothly blends nu-disco, house, broken beat and electronic pop. Expect organic grooves, melodic basslines and soulful vocal parts that they shape both in the studio and on stage.

With albums such as Boogie Angst, Plastic People, Electric Hustle, Chrome Waves, Juicy Fruit, Pleasure Centre and most recently Scirocco, they have refined a hybrid approach: translating the club feeling from the DJ booth into live energy. Along the way they have worked with vocalists like Ben Westbeech, Lee Fields and Romanthony, keeping their range broad from downtempo to the dancefloor.

On stage, Kraak & Smaak pair the subtle production of their studio work with the performance of a live lineup. The signature remains clear: funk and disco influences in a modern house context, with room for groove, hooks and movement.
