Gare Du Nord

On 14 March 2026 Gare Du Nord will perform at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. The Dutch-Belgian project of Barend Fransen and Ferdi Lancee emerged in the early 2000s with a mix of nu-jazz, soul and lounge. Since their debut In Search of Excellounge (2001), the group has worked with slow grooves, cinematic atmospheres and jazzy harmonies that evoke imaginary soundtracks. With albums such as Sex ’n’ Jazz (2007) and Love for Lunch (2009), their sound shifted toward urban jazz with subtle funk and gently applied pop, often carried by female vocals.

Live, Gare Du Nord grew into a flexible band, with Dorona Alberti as a recurring voice on stage. The set moves between downtempo, soulful hooks and bluesy accents, leaving room for improvisation and arrangements that unfold in performance. The result is music that leans on groove and atmosphere while retaining enough tension to make each song land differently. In Eindhoven you will hear the repertoire the band has built up over recent years, from loungy themes to more pronounced jazz passages, always on the borderline of club, theatre and imagined soundtrack.
