On 14 March 2026 Fiddler's Green will play at Q-Factory in Amsterdam, with support from Mourning Wood. Since 1990 the band from Erlangen has been forging its own brand of speedfolk: a robust mix of Irish and Scottish melodies, folk rock and a shot of punk energy. Live it's all about pace, vocal harmony and tight rhythms; traditional tunes are given a new twist and alternate with original compositions. Choruses and instrumental passages keep the engine running, while violin and flute lines cut across guitar and drums.
The set draws on more than thirty years of music, from Wall Of Folk and Sports Day at Killaloe to Winners & Boozers, Devil's Dozen, Heyday and The Green Machine. On stage the group continually pushes the boundary between amplified folk and alternative rock culture, with a repertoire that invites the audience to join in.
Mourning Wood, from the Netherlands, opens the evening as the support act.
