Mell VF: 10 Years Strong

On 24 July 2026 Mell VF performs 10 Years Strong in Caprera, Bloemendaal. The Dutch trio — singer/guitarist Mell Jonk, drummer/guitarist Ton Dijkman and keyboardist Martin Scheppink — weaves rhythm & blues, soul and pop together with a vintage edge. The core of their sound is Hammond organ, piano and pulsing basslines, with Mell’s voice up front: warm and direct.

Since their first singles in 2016 and debut album in 2019, Mell VF has steadily carved out its own corner of the pop landscape. In 2021 they released Roots & Romance, an album of covers recorded during the lockdown years; their version of Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day” appeared in the 2022 Paramount film The In Between. A second album of original material followed in 2022, featuring songs such as “Love Train,” “Worth It,” “Shine Your Light” and “Frozen in Time.”

They appeared on television in 2023 on Beste Zangers and Vandaag Inside, which broadened their reach. Live, the trio continues the same approach: groove-driven songs, organic riffs and space for dynamics, sitting somewhere between Booker T. & The M.G.’s and Sly & The Family Stone, with a vocal soul that calls to mind Adele or Janis Joplin. 10 Years Strong marks ten years of Mell VF: a set that brings together the path from then to now, with an emphasis on their songs, their chemistry and that unmistakable Hammond-driven propulsion.
