Info

On 9 April 2026 Lagum plays Melkweg, Amsterdam. Raised in Belo Horizonte, the band has been forging its own blend of pop-rock, reggae and indie with R&B touches since the mid-2010s. Central are melodic guitars, direct vocals in Portuguese and songs about everyday life, relationships and the doubts of an urban generation. Their debut Coisas da Geração (2016) set the tone; Mundo Novo (2019) broadened the palette between rhythmic and introspective; Memórias (de onde eu nunca fui) (2021) moved toward melancholic but accessible alt-pop.

The death of drummer Breno Braga, also known as Tio Wilson, in 2020 marked the band’s story, but it didn’t slow their momentum. Live, Lagum sounds compact and rhythmic: reggae accents, indie energy and pop hooks, with room to breathe in the quieter passages. Expect a set that draws on the best of the three albums and recent tracks, with a focus on groove and vocal harmonies, and lyrics that land immediately even if you don’t understand Portuguese. In Amsterdam, Lagum will present the contours of a Brazilian pop generation that stays close to everyday life while smoothly shifting between light and dark.
