Gare Du Nord

On 28 March 2026 Gare Du Nord will play at Metropool in Hengelo. The Dutch/Belgian project emerged in the early 2000s around Barend Fransen and Ferdi Lancee and developed its own blend of nu-jazz and lounge, with slow grooves, soul- and blues-inflected tones, jazz harmonies and a cinematic atmosphere. Live, the collective shifts from the studio to the stage with a flexible lineup, with Dorona Alberti regularly carrying the vocals.

The set builds on the repertoire of In Search of Excellounge, Sex ’n’ Jazz and Love for Lunch: sultry rhythms, understated funk, warm keys and melodies that feel like mini soundtracks. Gare Du Nord plays with dynamics and space, letting bass and percussion breathe and coloring them with keys, guitar and voice. Don’t expect a retro show, but songs that take on a different skin on stage: longer arcs of tension, new accents and a subtle electronic edge where appropriate. An evening for those who love jazz with an urban feel, pop without sharp edges and that typical late-night vibe Gare Du Nord has long thrived on.
