Maiden United

Maiden uniteD removes the songwriter’s heart from Iron Maiden’s work and places it in an acoustic context. Under the leadership of Dutch bassist Joey Bruers, this European project reworks the familiar riffs and themes into spare, melody-driven versions in which vocals, piano and acoustic guitars carry the sound. It began on stage and first took shape on Mind the Acoustic Pieces (2010), a reimagining of Piece of Mind, followed by Across the Seventh Sea (2012), Remembrance (2015) and The Barrel House Tapes (2019).

Live, Maiden uniteD performs with a core lineup and rotating singers from the metal and prog scenes, including Damian Wilson. This approach shifts the mood from folk-like ballads to acoustic rock or almost chamber-music, without losing the recognizability of the original compositions. No galloping riffs, but carefully redrawn songs in which familiar choruses and melodies breathe differently. On 27 March 2026 Maiden uniteD will play Cpunt Poppodium in Hoofddorp with a set that strips down and rebuilds Iron Maiden’s repertoire, staying close to the song and the dynamics of an intimate club show.
