Wibi Soerjadi

On 18 July 2026 pianist Wibi Soerjadi will give an exclusive garden concert at Villa Peckedam in Diepenheim. Trained in the Netherlands and active on the major stages since the late 1980s, he focuses in this solo recital on the Romantic repertoire that is close to his heart. Expect works centred on Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Schumann, complemented by his own compositions and piano transcriptions of orchestral themes he has arranged for solo piano. In this setting the direct contact with the grand piano comes to the fore, unadorned, with the melody as the guiding thread.

Soerjadi is known for programmes in which the great Romantic idiom is combined with compact, narrative pieces of his own. The result is a seamless line from iconic pages of the nineteenth century to personal miniatures and fresh transcriptions. The garden format emphasises the intimacy of the recital and leaves room for detail, colour and phrasing.
