Oum

On May 4, 2026 at the Pan Piper in Paris, Oum opens the doors of Dialddar, a new chapter conceived as a sonic home. A Moroccan singer at the crossroads of soul, jazz and Saharan traditions, she summons here an intimate dialogue between voices, percussion and oud. At her side are three distinctive voices from the Paris jazz scene — Cynthia Abraham, Lucile Chriqui and Ayda Benslimane — Natascha Rogers on percussion, and her longtime collaborator Yacir Rami on oud.

Polyphonies intertwine with drum cycles; dialectal Arabic and Hassaniya glide into contemporary harmonies. Sobriety and sophistication meet, between Moroccan memory and present impulses. Dialddar advances in nuances, making room for listening and the ensemble’s breathing, and traces a passage between influences, generations and cultures. The evening is conceived as a common, intimate and living space, where Oum’s voice leads the dance without overstatement.
