On 24 May 2026 the M72 World Tour brings Metallica to Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt am Main. Since 1981 the band fronted by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich has shaped thrash metal, from the raw drive of their early days to the global breakthrough with the Black Album. Live, Metallica bridges classics and newer material, with 72 Seasons as the most recent chapter. Riffs, dynamics and that instinct for building tension remain the core of their shows — no frills, just the band facing the audience.
Pantera appear as guests. Founded by the Abbott brothers, the band found its groove-metal sound in the early ’90s: dry, heavy riffs, a midtempo pulse and coarse, edgy vocals. Today Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown share the stage with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante, performing material from Cowboys from Hell to Reinventing the Steel — direct, focused and built for the stage.
From Gothenburg come Avatar, who combine their melodic-death roots with a theatrical approach. Under the leadership of Johannes Eckerström the quintet blends modern metal ferocity, catchy hooks and a dark circus aesthetic. From Black Waltz to Dance Devil Dance they have developed a distinctive signature that works live through precise staging and compact songs — a contrast that rounds off the evening’s lineup.
