Info
Keziah Jones, born in Lagos, has been shaping his blufunk for more than thirty years—a fusion of raw blues, sharp funk and Yoruba rhythms. Having moved from piano to guitar, he honed his playing in the streets of London and later in the Paris metro. His percussive technique, struck strings and sense of rhythm lay down a precise groove, nourished by a Nigerian heritage and a rock-funk energy that runs through his pieces.
He will be appearing on 6 June 2026 at L’Usine in Istres. On stage, he revisits the thread of his landmark albums: "Blufunk Is a Fact" and the indispensable "Rhythm Is Love", "African Space Craft", then "Liquid Sunshine" and "Black Orpheus", up to "Nigerian Wood." Between clipped riffs, spare harmonies and Yoruba pulses, he delivers a tight, guitar-centered set, with passages where improvisation surfaces. An evening to grasp his blufunk at its source, in a direct, no-frills format.
