Info
Romano, whose real name is Roman Geike and who comes from Berlin‑Köpenick, brings his blend of German pop tradition, rap and electronics to the stage. On March 17, 2026 at the Strom in Munich he combines narrative spoken‑word vocals with catchy hooks and beats that range from hip‑hop grooves to synth textures, with a touch of Schlager. His songs revolve around neighborhood stories, character portraits and everyday observations, often focused on Berlin’s marginal zones, their social fractures and their own codes. Visually and thematically, echoes of the former GDR’s aesthetics and the culture of Berlin’s suburbs flash through—not out of nostalgia, but as a framework for very contemporary scenes.
Since Jenseits von Köpenick and Copyshop, Romano has been sharpening this signature style: precise articulation, spoken‑sung timing, and clear images drawn from office corridors, copy shops and housing estates. Live he relies on contrasts between his stage presence and his references, casually switching between storytelling and chorus, letting the bass roll and the lyrics breathe. At the Strom this meets club immediacy: compact arrangements, direct delivery and a performance that brings his characters and places close to the audience—with material from his albums and songs that carry these stories further.
