On 24 March 2026, Café del Mundo will take the stage at the Theater am Marientor in Duisburg. The guitar duo of Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian favors a direct dialogue between two concert guitars: flamenco as a starting point, combined with influences from world music, jazz and classical music. Original pieces alternate with newly interpreted themes; precise rhythmic work, rapid rasgueados and percussive patterns contrast with cantabile lines and calm passages.
Since the 2010s the duo has been appearing in European venues and festivals, from intimate duo settings to projects with large ensembles. With GuitaRevolution, Café del Mundo presents a program that adopts the codes of modern flamenco, leaves room for improvisation and interlocks the two guitars like a small ensemble. The focus is on dynamics, pulse and tightly coordinated interplay that layers textures, exchanges motifs and continually opens up new dialogues.
