Imarhan + Gondhawa

Imarhan will be at the VIP on Boulevard de la Légion d’Honneur in Saint-Nazaire on March 27, 2026. Rooted in Tamanrasset, the group embodies a new Tuareg generation that links tichumaren to a sound fed by rock, pop and Saharan grooves. Hypnotic guitars, supple bass lines and percussion carried by Tamasheq choirs shape songs that speak of everyday life, nature, hope and struggle. On stage, the band seeks a balance between heritage and modernity, a dynamic where repeated motifs and a mid‑tempo pulse settle in—somewhere between desert celebrations and urban life.

Gondhawa leans into psychedelia. A power trio from Angers, the band blends garage energy, taut rhythms and Eastern‑tinged melodies. They develop a fictional universe, Gondhawa, sung in Gondhawii, an imaginary language that draws on sounds from the Orient, Asia, Europe and beyond. The palette widens with instruments like the sanxian and a microtonal guitar, producing textures that unsettle familiar reference points while keeping a strong sense of riff. Direct and curious, their music is guided by the legacy of 1970s rock and a drive to explore.
