Hindley Street Country Club

On May 6, 2026, La Cigale hosts Hindley Street Country Club, an Adelaide collective led by bassist and producer Constantine Delo. HSCC brings together studio musicians and a rotating lineup of guest singers to revisit a live repertoire of pop, rock, soul and funk. Born online with single‑take videos, the project has honed a session sound on stage: a solid pop‑soul rhythm section, melodic guitars, prominent keyboards, occasional brass, and arrangements that alternate between fidelity to the original structures and light reworkings.

At La Cigale, HSCC draws on classics from the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, with a few more recent selections. The live energy foregrounds bass lines, vocal harmonies and tight transitions — a studio spirit, but performed live. The collective format allows voices to change over the course of the set, giving each standard a different colour while keeping the pop‑soul thread that defines the group’s identity. It’s an opportunity to see on stage a project that pairs the craft of session musicians with the joy of collective playing, in a setting built for live performance.
