Info
Grandbrothers return to live performance with 'Elsewhere', a new chapter that broadens their musical playground. The German‑Swiss duo, composed of pianist Erol Sarp and engineer‑programmer Lukas Vogel, continue their distinctive approach of turning the piano into a rhythmic and melodic engine. Their "augmented" instrument, driven by electromechanical hammers designed by Vogel, generates in real time percussive attacks, harmonics and repeating patterns—without samples—at the intersection of neoclassical, electronica and experimental.
With 'Elsewhere', their set opens for the first time to analog synthesizers and drum machines, bringing a stronger forward drive and new contrasts. Textures layer, pulses sharpen, allowing melodies to breathe that play on intimacy as much as on tension. The staging has been redesigned to visually reflect this evolution, with a lighting language that accompanies every sonic inflection.
Grandbrothers will be at Den Atelier, Luxembourg, on 6 March 2026. An opportunity to experience live the balance they draw between mechanics and sensitivity, rhythmic precision and clear lines, in an expanded live show that reframes their piano signature.
