Sam Roberts Band: Chemical City 20th Anniversary Tour

Sam Roberts Band brings the Chemical City 20th Anniversary Tour to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on April 17, 2026. Led by singer and guitarist Sam Roberts, the Montreal outfit has built its sound on melodic songwriting, taut guitars and a clear sense for hooks, rooted in indie and classic North American rock.

Spotted in the early 2000s with the EP The Inhuman Condition (2002) and the debut We Were Born in a Flame (2003), the group followed with Chemical City in 2006 and Love at the End of the World in 2008. From Collider in 2011, the name Sam Roberts Band marked a more collective dynamic around a steady core of players. Subsequent albums, Lo-Fantasy (2014), TerraForm (2016), All of Us (2020) and The Adventures of Ben Blank (2023), added flashes of psychedelia, roomier keyboards and light pop inflections without losing the direct drive of the songs.

On stage, the band favors clear arrangements and momentum. This anniversary date puts Chemical City at the center, with room for cuts from across the catalog.
