Black Label Society, led by guitarist and singer Zakk Wylde, lands at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg on March 24, 2026. Formed in Los Angeles in 1998, the band drives a heavy metal anchored in classic hard rock with southern touches and electric, more melodic ballads. Around Wylde’s writing and signature guitar tone, the lineup shifts but often settles as a quartet with longtime bassist John DeServio. From Sonic Brew (1999) through The Blessed Hellride (2003), Mafia (2005) and Doom Crew Inc. (2021), the framework stays clear: dense riffs, mid-tempo weight, stretched solos and a voice that’s rough yet melodic. The set moves between fast cuts, darker atmospheres and near-acoustic passages.
Also on the bill, Zakk Sabbath, Wylde’s power-trio project, revisits the early years of Black Sabbath with a focus on hard rock, doom and blues roots. With rotating bassists and drummers drawn from established metal bands, the group was built for the road and kept close to the stage. Alongside club and festival shows, the project released Vertigo in 2020, a front-to-back re-creation of Sabbath’s debut. Expect massive riffs, gritty vocals, slowed pulses and a live, unvarnished approach that keeps the spirit of classic heavy metal in sharp focus.
