Boogie Wonder Band

Montreal’s Boogie Wonder Band brings its big-band take on 70s disco and early funk to Casino Rama in Orillia on January 26, 2026. On stage, the 10-piece lineup — singers, rhythm section and horns — digs into the era’s classic grooves with tight arrangements, stacked harmonies and a brass sound built for the dancefloor. Costumes and larger-than-life personas nod to the period, but the center of gravity stays on the pulse, the riffs and the call-and-response that powered those originals.

Formed in the 1990s, BWB honed its craft in clubs before touring across North America and abroad, regularly sharing bills with names from the disco and funk circuit. The set threads hits made famous by Kool & The Gang, CHIC, KC & The Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor or The Trammps with a few originals in the same spirit, carried by crisp horns and layered vocals.
