Info

Madeleine Peyroux brings her intimate blend of jazz, blues, folk and chanson to Toronto on April 10, 2026 at Danforth Music Hall, 147 Danforth Avenue, M4K 1N2, Canada. Born in Athens, Georgia and raised between the U.S. and France, she began singing as a teenager in Paris, busking and touring with the Lost Wandering Blues and Jazz Band. That start shapes a repertoire where standards and songwriting meet, from Dreamland (1996) to Careless Love (2004), with carefully chosen reinterpretations of writers like Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. She has continued that balance of covers and originals across Half the Perfect World, Bare Bones, Standing on the Rooftop, The Blue Room, Secular Hymns and Anthem, often with musicians from the jazz and American roots scenes. On stage, Peyroux favors supple phrasing, measured tempos and a close, attentive mood that opens the jazz tradition toward contemporary song. The set draws from across her catalog with room for new arrangements and understated storytelling. All ages.
