Pi Ja Ma, also known as Pauline de Tarragon, is a writer, singer, illustrator and ceramist who shapes a brand of pop that blends clear melodies, quiet impertinence and a taste for independence. On stage she brings together songs, drawings and a strong sense of visual storytelling to create a format that goes beyond a simple concert. Her new album, Magnetofille, opens a more direct chapter, with supple keyboards, understated guitars and some lo-fi textures. She accompanies it with a new stage production in which her voice and illustrations converse, playing on contrasts between softness and rhythmic surges.
