Info
Alexis Le Rossignol draws his stories from everyday life and the gray areas where nothing much seems to happen, yet where everything is decided. In Le sens de la vie, he begins with the memory of a horse named Sans plus and with an impulse that wasn’t really one, then unfolds a series of human-scale tales. He mixes storytelling with what might be called “fridge philosophy,” linking together small scenes, digressions and the questions we usually avoid. What do we do with our lives? How do we make our choices, our renunciations and the little pirouettes that keep us upright? Alexis moves forward calmly, with clear phrasing, precise writing and that off-kilter touch that sets a situation up before twisting it just enough.
At the Théâtre La Gaîté Rive Gauche, he opens this new set like a notebook: personal fragments, on-the-ground observations, absurd micro-logics and hushed confidences. No grand theories—rather details that align and ultimately shed light on the question without closing it. You hear interior dialogues, tiny lives, shaky plans, and Alexis’s small musical thread, somewhere between gentle lucidity and feigned nonchalance. A show that speaks about us without seeming to.
