Info
Tinariwen, figures of the desert blues, have carried the assouf since the 1990s — the Tamasheq word that expresses nostalgia and homesickness. Born of the Tuareg people, they have transformed the experience of exile and struggle into songs of lithe guitars, rasping harmonies and clipped pulses, somewhere between dusty ballads and Sahelian trance. From nomadic camps to international stages, their sound has travelled without losing its roots: Saharan rhythms, poetry in Tamasheq, spiraling riffs and counter-sung lines that call to the road. Each piece moves forward like a caravan, with that recognizable sway that blends tension, breath and a quietly urgent drive. Tinariwen will take the stage at Le Tube — Les Bourdaines Seignosse on 10 April 2026 for a traversal of their repertoire in which electric guitar answers the percussion, and voices tell of departures and returns, horizons and memories. A simple, direct way to carry Tuareg culture far beyond the desert, without artifice or effects, just the essentials: the cadence, the words and the grain of the guitars.
