Cosmic Psychos

Cosmic Psychos, an emblem of Australian punk rock, formed in 1982 in Spring Plains around bassist Ross Knight. Since their self-titled debut album in 1987, they have released ten studio records and exerted an influence that crosses borders. Their sound remains true to a straightforward formula: hammered lyrics, fuzz guitars, a wah‑wahed bass tone, a motor that hasn’t changed and that keeps drawing audiences.

Their imprint reaches as far as England, where The Prodigy sampled their music on The Fat of the Land, and the US West Coast, where producer Butch Vig has spoken of their role in relation to Nirvana and the grunge scene. Eddie Vedder has also mentioned them when recalling his years in Seattle. Three decades on, Cosmic Psychos cut through fashions and trends with the same bearing: a raw punk rock grounded in Australian dust.

On May 6, 2026, the trio arrives at Le Ferrailleur in Nantes. It’s an opportunity to catch on stage that blend of weight, irony and energy that defines them.
