The Offline

Hamburg-based multi-instrumentalist and producer The Offline continues his sonic exploration in a cinematic universe, blending surf, psychedelia and hip-hop on his second album, « La grande évasion ».

Scheduled for Friday, November 28 on DeepMatter Records, the album was originally conceived as a 1970s science-fiction concept record about a spacecraft venturing into deep space. It evolved into something more intimate while remaining expansive. While interstellar themes remain present, the music now traces a different kind of journey, rooted in memory, photography, places and introspection.

The Offline, aka Felix Müller, was born out of a trip along the Atlantic coast of southern France, where he photographed beach life on film. Back in Hamburg, he wrote tracks to accompany those images. His first EP, « En clair-obscur », captured the essence of that trip and the mood of a summer soundtrack.

On the follow-up album, « La couleur de la mer », he composed his own score for a film that has yet to be made. Then « Les Cigales » reflects the mysticism of Marseille. His music has received support from BBC Radio 6 Music, Jazz FM, Somewhere Soul, Rinse FM, FIP and NTS.
