Pierre-Emmanuel Barré returns with Come-Back, a piece he both wrote and performs himself. The starting point is simple: in 2031, he finds himself outdated, and to get back into the spotlight he's preparing a new show. All that remains is to decide what to tell. From there, Barré unfolds a very timely journey: fame that wears thin, ideas that go in circles, subjects people avoid, angles he embraces. He takes apart his own tics, experiments with different avenues, allows himself detours, and lays his comic machinery bare.
On stage he plays with visual effects and a soundscape that emphasize the breaks and returns. The writing is precise, with direct addresses to the audience and improvised variations. The show is conceived as an open workshop: you can see the work in progress, the useful flops, and the discoveries that endure.
