Info
Julien Clerc has spanned more than five decades of French song, leaving a discography studded with familiar hits. He first came to prominence in 1968 with 'La Cavalerie' and quickly followed with 'Ce n’est rien', 'Si on chantait' and 'Ma préférence'—refrains that established his voice and songwriting between mainstream French chanson and pop. Over the years he has shaped a recognisable melodic style and a stage presence that is understated but precise, with the piano leading the way. Also a notable milestone: forty years ago he was the first French artist to perform at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy. He will celebrate his 80th birthday on October 9, 2027. In the meantime he is back on the road and will stop at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes on September 20, 2026. The programme features a concert that revisits his signature songs alongside more recent material, delivered with that direct way of singing about love and life that has accompanied several generations.
