Info
On March 12, 2026, L’Autre Canal Nancy hosts Grandma’s Ashes, a Parisian trio that forges a taut rock between stoner and prog. On stage, the three musicians throw their bodies into the songs, with massive riffs, a compact rhythm section and a clear vocal that cuts through. Their lyrics probe the fissures of everyday urban life—its smouldering violence and indifference—while seeking more intimate moments of respite. The Fates (2021) laid the foundations for a direct, expansive sound built for live performance. This Too Shall Pass (2023) consolidated the formula and widened the scope, confirming a songwriting approach that favors dynamic shifts and slow detonations.
A seasoned live act, the band has played La Maroquinerie and the Trabendo, rubbed shoulders with the crowds at Hellfest, Motocultor and the Francofolies, and cut their teeth in Spanish clubs. Their universe doesn’t stop at the music: narrative videos, carefully crafted sleeves, and references to mythology and art create a distinct visual identity. Feminist, clear-sighted and sometimes eco-anxious, Grandma’s Ashes puts words and tension to a generation’s worries without looking away, finding in the energy of the concert a space to transform them.
