Laurent Gerra returns to the stage with a new show, Se met à table, in which he unfolds his art of imitation and his knack for the perfectly placed line. As a comedian and impressionist, he sketches the news in his own way, drawing on politics, song, television and film to compose a menu of images and voices that play off one another. Between well-known figures and new faces, he strings together portraits, plays with mannerisms, twists refrains and unsettles speeches, while also throwing in a few nods to current debates—from TV panels to social quarrels. Here, no one is spared, including untouchable icons and today’s fashions, treated with the blend of precision and mischief that has shaped his style.
