David Byrne, founding member of Talking Heads, returns with Who Is the Sky, his first album since American Utopia, released in 2018. In the studio he enlisted Grammy-winning producer Kid Harpoon and New York ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra for the arrangements. Guests include St. Vincent, Hayley Williams (Paramore), Tom Skinner (The Smile) and Mauro Refosco. The album is anchored by the single "Everybody Laughs," accompanied by a video directed by Gabriel Barcia-Colombo.
To support these new songs, Byrne is mounting a show conceived as a kinetic machine: a troupe of 13 musicians, singers and dancers, including members of American Utopia, entirely mobile on stage. It’s a way for him to explore, song by song, a songwriting approach that plays with collaboration and the unexpected.
