Elie Semoun « Cactus »

Elie Semoun returns with CACTUS, a new show that adopts a more direct tone while retaining his signature. For this eighth work, he gives more space to stand-up without abandoning his characters, the playground that has accompanied him since his beginnings. Established for thirty years in the comedy landscape, he observes the flaws and habits of our time with a sense of detail that hits the mark, moving between intimacy and off-kilter perspective.

In this new gallery of portraits, we meet Jean Abdul, billed as the opening act; a son who takes his father to visit a nursing home (EHPAD); Xavier, living with a motor disability, who introduces his wife to his mother; a father confronted with his son's transition; a karate instructor making racist remarks; and scenes that probe sexual harassment and religion. CACTUS thus tackles sensitive subjects head-on, blending characters and stand-up, fictional dialogues and slices of life.

Elie Semoun will be at Forum Le Mans on March 13, 2026, with a show that digs into themes of intolerance, taboo and injustice, privileging precise writing, tight pacing and a strong sense of character that remain at the heart of his style.
