Ara Malikian

Ara Malikian, an Armenian-born violinist, charts a course between tradition and modernity. As concertmaster of the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Madrid, he composes and reinvents a repertoire that crosses borders: classical music, Romani music, Arabic influences, and a rock strand nourished by Jimi Hendrix, Guns N’ Roses and Björk. His project Intruso extends this blend with clear writing and stage energy that leaves room for improvisation and dialogue with the audience.

On 18 March 2026 at the Radiant-Bellevue in Caluire-et-Cuire, Ara Malikian will present a concert structured as a musical journey, between personal pieces and reinterpretations. The violin is at times chamber-like, at times rougher; the arrangements shift reference points without blurring them, and a sense of rhythm makes you want to follow every turn.
