Archive en concert

Archive, the south-London collective, reveals a few details about its new album, Restriction, and about the forthcoming large European tour that will follow its release.

This new opus comes hot on the heels of Axiom, the collective's cinematic project. Selected this year for the Sundance Film Festival, Axiom was performed at the Roundhouse in London and at the Montreux Jazz Festival. A new screening with a projection and concert will also take place on 2 November at the Grand Rex in Paris, as part of the Musiques à l’Image Festival.

Restriction, produced by Archive and Jerome Devoise (a longtime collaborator of the collective), will be released on 12 January 2015 via Dangervisit and [PIAS].

About this album, Darius Keeler, co-founder of Archive, says: 'We wanted to create an album with 12 tracks that share a common thread, yet are all unique and musically diverse. One of the things I love most about Archive is how we've evolved with each album, taking our audience on a journey with us. Restriction is the next step in the journey, and we can't wait to share it with the people who matter most to us.'

Archive has decided to release not one, but three singles today: 'Feel It', 'Black and Blue' and 'Kid Corner'. About this decision Keeler says: 'As our aim was to make an album where each track is very strong, we didn't want to single out one track as a 'single'. By making three tracks available, our audience can get a better sense of the new album. Also, it's something we don't usually do, so it makes it even more interesting!'

To accompany this release the band will embark on a European tour starting February 2015. 'Restriction 2015 Tour' already promises to be one of Archive's largest and most ambitious tours, with the screening of Axiom at the start of each date.

Darius: 'The live aspect has always been very important for Archive; we try to make each tour unique and special, I think we've set the bar very high this time. We can't wait to share this show with our fans!'
