Mallory Knox
Formed in Cambridge, England in 2009, Mallory Knox brings together Mikey Chapman, Sam Douglas, James Gillett, Joe Savins and Dave Rawling around a post-hardcore–infused alternative rock, with taut guitars, melodic refrains and a balance between upfront intensity and more airy vocal lines. The band first drew attention on the British scene with the Pilot EP in 2011, before settling into the country’s rock venues and festival circuit, from Download to Reading and Leeds via Slam Dunk. Mallory Knox develops this identity on Signals in 2013, then on Asymmetry in 2014, where the writing expands without leaving its anchor between emo, modern rock and accessible post-hardcore. After an American tour and several support slots for bands such as Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens or A Day to Remember, Mallory Knox continued with Wired in 2017, in a more direct and smoother vein. In 2018, the departure of singer Mikey Chapman altered the band’s balance, Sam Douglas taking over lead vocals for what followed. This new configuration led to the album Mallory Knox in 2019, released shortly before the announcement of the split. The group reformed in 2024 with its original lineup, first for Slam Dunk–related appearances and then for an anniversary tour around Asymmetry.
